Ch. 08What's new

How Jae has gotten better.

We ship in small, visible cuts. Each line below is a real change you can feel on a live thread, not a refactor or a rename. Listed newest first.

Better timing on the secure link.

Jae waits until a lead is genuinely qualified before sending the KYC link, and recognizes the vague way real clients ask for it.

  • Holds the link until name, intent, budget, and either location or timeline are captured. No more premature link blasts that scare off serious clients.
  • Routes phrasings like “send me the form,” “where do I sign,” or “the link” to the right action without asking “which link?”
  • Pre-fills what’s known and tells the client which fields she already filled in, so they know it’s a 90-second job.

Hungrier sales disposition.

Jae now closes leads the way a top-quartile agent does: presses for email, loops back on cold threads, probes stakeholders.

  • Asks for email every 2–3 turns until captured or politely declined.
  • Loops back on dropped threads in three different phrasings before flagging to the agent.
  • Probes when family or co-buyers are mentioned. Stakeholder visibility doubles deal size.
  • Detects sell-side intent (a client who hints they have a property to offload) and presses separately.
  • Every outbound closes with a concrete next action Jae owns. No dead-end “let me know!”.

Honest about what Jae can do today.

When inventory is not yet indexed for an agent, Jae stops presenting empty results as market truth and pivots back to qualifying the client.

  • New per-tool fidelity flag. Stub tools (listings, market stats) cannot be presented as live to the client.
  • Empty stub results trigger a redirect to the agent, not “the market has nothing in your range.”
  • Disabled tools are removed from Jae’s reach so she cannot accidentally invoke them.

Talk to Jae in the browser.

A new playground surface lets prospects (and YC partners) chat with Jae the same way a buyer would, without scanning a QR code.

  • Full AI dispatch behind the scenes. Same skills, same tools, same memory.
  • Sandbox-only by default. Sandbox agents never trigger real outbound WhatsApp or email.
  • Inspector panel shows tool calls, qualification progress, and KYC state in real time.

The foundation.

Two months of plumbing so the night shift actually holds. None of this is glamorous; all of it is why a missed message still gets a reply at 11:47 PM.

  • Email module live: Jae drafts and sends from a real address, with agent approval gates.
  • Lemon Squeezy billing wired up. Stripe does not support Jamaica, so we built around it.
  • Cloud Run deployment with two services. 60-minute request timeouts so long AI calls do not get killed.
  • WhatsApp Cloud API migration path for production traffic. Baileys retained for founder testing only.
  • Document compliance pipeline. Encrypted upload, broker delivery, agent CC, audit log.
